Contraindications
General contraindications for barefoot massage include, but are not limited to, the list below.
Do not seek barefoot massage if:
Sedentary lifestyle : Lack of daily exercise can lead to DVT and may have adverse effects on the body due to deeper pressure.
Pregnancy: Pregnant, trying to conceive, or recent breast/gluteal/calf implants (within 9 months).
Implants: Breast/gluteal/calf implants (within 9 months).
Vascular: Blood clots (DVT), phlebitis, thrombosis, aneurysm, uncontrolled hypertension, varicose veins, or taking blood thinners.
Infection: Fever, contagious skin conditions (ringworm, shingles), open wounds, or active infections.
Bone/Joint: Severe osteoporosis (fracture risk), recent fractures, major joint surgeries (6 weeks), spinal fusion/rods/pins.
Organ/Systemic: Kidney disorders, active autoimmune diseases (lupus, MS), uncontrolled diabetes, or cancer.
Recent Trauma: Eye procedures (Lasik within 72 hrs), recent surgeries (6 weeks).
